Look at that, we finally bought a house. Those of you that haven’t already should come visit us. We took a bunch of pictures how it looks now because we’re hiring painters to redo all the colors in the living room, dining room, kitchen, loft and hallways. So, we’ll post more pictures afterwards form comparison.

Lookie what I got here, wonder if anyone will notice.
So, after trying unsucessfully to upgrade some things to the website lots of stuff got screwed up, I got lazy, and things didn’t get fixed. But, I’ve had a little extra time, tried a couple things and seem to have gotten it all back to the way it was.
While I was gone we got to go to San Francisco for my friend Courtney’s wedding. I loved that city, it’s much different in the summer than St. Louis. High’s only reaching just about 80, constant cool breeze, nice and cool at night and almost no humidity. Great scenery, interesting people and lots of things to do and see. It’s also Apple headquarters. Why aren’t I living there already? Anyways here’s the gallery of the pictures we took on our trip. Enjoy!
If you don’t want to sit thru the whole slideshow you can just click the title of the gallery down in the corner to just go to the whole thing.

Found a new way to share pictures, Google’s Picasa, i think it makes up for the shortcomings that Flickr has, plus its interface is slicker.
So in my quest to further replace the features of .mac for free or much cheaper I came across this service. Called Mozy, they offer 2GB of free online storage or unlimited for like $5 a month. They have a nice little downloadable app that schedules your backups and what files you want to upload. The 2GB will be plenty for me since I only like to use the online backup for smaller files like bookmarks, address book, and small things like that. Here’s a referral link if you’re interested. Yes, it’s a referral, and I’ll get an extra 256mb of storage, but so will you! So it’s not that bad right? Anyways it’s free and seems pretty slick and I can take one more thing off the list of .mac features to be replaced.
This post is a bit outdated but I still wanted to make it.
So since Lucy had been working so hard at a clients place putting in a few 12 hour days they decided to reward her and got her and the rest of the team some tickets to a Cardinals game in the private company suite. I got lucky and was able to tag along as well. It was a real cold game, bout 40 degrees, so it was nice to have the suite to hide in and make use of the free food and drinks. It also made the 10-0 loss much easier to handle. At least after the cold weather and disappointing loss the traffic leaving the game was very light. If you ever have the chance to get into a suite I’d highly recommend it. We also got pretty nice replicas of the World Series Championship flags, the night before everyone got replica rings. I think I like the flags a little better myself.
Also as you can tell below I finally go the flickr viewer working however I’ve found it may have some severe limitations. Originally I went for this method to keep from uploading a ton of pictures up to Ryan’s server and find an easy way to share them but it seems Flickr wants me to upgrade to a “premium” account so I can have unlimited photosets. Unfortunately the photosets are what the viewer I have uses to pull its images. Right now with the free account I think I can only have 3 photosets. So, any suggestions or workarounds would be appreciated, but for now enjoy the pictures below.
Post to follow, just trying to get the Flickr gallery thing to work.
Yup, lookie what I did. Went and finally got myself a domain. So yes, yes you all now have a new blog for us both to ignore! With suggestions and lots of help from Ryan he pointed me in the way of using Google to host certain parts such as email for free and was kind enough to host the rest of the site on his own server and set up the Wordpress so make the page much more functional and easier for me to add to. So who knows, maybe if it’s easier and performs better I will update it a little more. It’s certainly a much easier address to remember.
Basically my whole motivation for this was I was getting a bit tired of paying $99 a year for the .Mac service. I love Apple and damn near everything they do, but this was one service that seemed to be seriously lacking. So, for only about $9 a year I now get my completely own webpage and personalized email that I can keep forever. Instead of $99 a year for a website with a clumsy address and an email account that doesn’t look all that professional. One of the main things I will miss about not using the .mac service anymore will be the automatic syncing of my addressbook, bookmarks and keychain to the idisk. So i’m still looking for a replacement for that, but saving $99 a year I think I’ll live.
I also reserved seanmerle.com tho there’s nothing there yet, but I plan to use that for a more professional side, put my resume and maybe a gallery of artwork (which I also need to get started on again). So, if you’re reading this go ahead and make a username, make some comments, lets actually use this page!
